This is a two-fer. Consider this a right/left pair sort of thing. Today’s SETFREE gift to the world of people who say: “Oh, cool. I’ll take that!” is a pair of iPods.
I know I might possibly regret this some day when I am old(er) and sitting in a nursing home googling old stuff on eBay (will that stuff even still exist?) with nothing better to do. Like the other day, I googled the value of old macintosh computers. A Mac 512K E (which is what I had back in 1984) is roughly the value of when it first came out – $2,500 to $3,000. I mean if someone would be foolish to pay that for one. Today, I mean. Yes, I was foolish enough back then to pay that much money for a computer. But to be fair, it did launch my career (such that it is) so many years ago (32).
Back then, with nothing more than my Mac512K/E (E=”enhanced”) and an ImageWriter II, I could change the world <and I tried>. This was the start of my organizing and non-profit life. Oh the posters and newsletters I created and printed. So much better and easier than LetraSet. That computer eventually got traded for a “laptop” somewhere around 1987. And I say laptop, I think it was a portable word processor with a cassette drive which later got traded for a very pretty wooded/silver Piccolo which I still have. So the real money would be in the Original 512K/E (+/-). The Word Processor/Laptop thing would be worth nothing. The piccolo? Oh maybe a few hundred, if that. (Or perhaps that becomes part of the 30-day challenge).
But I digress.
Today’s post is about these lovely iPods. Yes, they still work. Yes, they are in great shape and yes, I reformatted them. One is a a 20G, the other 80G for a whopping total of 100G of pure toilet white iPod music. Now if they’d only play songs from only 2004, life would be complete.
